Young Nomad Josh Williams was the star of the show for the Welsh Schools FA team on Thursday night as he grabbed two goals in defeating Scotland.

Williams was selected as captain for Marc Lloyd-Williams' side and started alongside fellow Nomads Louis Holden at Annan Athletic's Galabank stadium.

It took Williams less than ten minutes to open the scoring with a thumping volley from the edge of the box to beat the Scottish goalkeeper and he doubled his talley for the night in the 73rd minute as he picked the ball up and drove towards goal before striking from the edge of the box to find the bottom corner and give Wales the 2-0 victory.

Welsh Schools FA Head Coach Marc Lloyd Williams praised Josh's performance saying; "We've seen Josh develop over the last few months with the Nomads Development team and Coleg Cambria - he is an integral part of our squad and we felt that appointing him Captain for last night's match would see him take his game to another level, and he didn't let us down.

He was instrumental in everything we did, scored two brilliant goals and led from the front in everything he did. He covered every blade of that pitch - his passion and leadership shone through, which you could see transferred throughout the rest of the team. The next challenge for Josh now is to to maintain this quality and standard in our remaining two fixtures in the Centenary Shield, one challenge he will no doubt relish and meet head on."

Well done on a fantastic performance Josh!
