Connah's Quay Nomads are delighted to announce that First Team Captain, John Disney will become the Head Coach for our U18 squad.
Disney has taken on the mantle of club captain since the start of the 2023/24 season having initially joined the club in January 2016 under Andy Morrison where he would go on to be part of the team that secured European football for the first time - Disney left the club in 2017 but returned in June 2018 and has been at the club ever since, amassing over 225 competitive start for the club and winning the JD Cymru Premier and Nathaniel MG Cup in his time at the club.
Disney completed his UEFA B Licence in 2022 through the FAW alongside the likes of Premier League players Andros Townsend and Martin Kelly and is currently underway with his UEFA A Licence, again featuring alongside a number of ex Preimer League players, most notably Florent Malouda. Whilst undertaking his UEFA A Licence coaching, John's mentor will be former Nomads' Manager, Allan Bickerstaff.
As part of our own internal reshuffle, our U18s will now be playing their games in the JD Cymru Development League North meaning that a number of our players will be playing up a number of age groups to meet this challenge.
