Whilst Saturday evening will see Connah's Quay Nomads and Flint Town United do battle on the pitch, the two sides will join forces off it in aid of Flintshire Food Bank.

Ahead of kick off, there will be donation points just outside the turnstiles allowing spectators from both clubs to donate food to those less fortunate this festive period before entering the Essity Stadium.

Flintshire Foodbank provide vital support for the local community with over 11,573 people receiving a food parcel from the local charity between April 22 and March 23 with almost 5000 of them being children.

Nomads Ambassador, Jack Sargeant MS commented; "I am really proud of Connah’s Quay Nomads and Flint Town United for their efforts in organising a donations drive for the local foodbank. So many people are struggling and this work is really needed. Two clubs rooted in their communities and determined to make a difference, well done all."

The sort of things that are suggested as donations from the foodbank include; UHT Milk, coffee, tinned meat/fish, long-life juice, tinned meals (curries, chili etc), pasta sauce, tinned fruit, tinned vegetables, soup, sponge/rice puddings, cereal, pasta, rice and toiletries such as soap, toothpaste and shower gel.

Any small donation you can make this festive season could make a huge difference to a member of your local community.
