The Nomads are pleased to announce the signings of experienced Welsh Premier League duo, Ian Kearney and Michael Wilde.
The arrival of the pair marks further investment in The Nomads' first team ahead of the Club's first foray into European football as we embark on our maiden voyage into the Europa League in June and July. They join The Nomads' squad along with last week's arrivals, Matty Owen, Jay Owen and Kevin Holsgrove.
Kearney joins The Nomads from nearby rivals Airbus UK, where he had been since 2012, captaining the side to consecutive Europa League qualifications, amassing 73 Welsh Premier League appearances and 13 goals in his time at The Airfield.
Prior to his arrival at Airbus, Kearney played at Southport, Radcliffe Borough, Ashton United and Northwich Victoria.
The second arrival at Deeside sees striker, Michael Wilde, join the fold. Wilde is known throughout the league as an out and out goalscorer, having scored 151 goals in his 214 appearances for The New Saints. Wilde originally joined TNS (then known as Total Network Solutions) in 2002 from Poulton Victoria. He was the Oswestry-based side's supporter's player of the season in the 2004/05 and 2005/06 seasons. Wilde joined Fleetwood Town in January 2009 before moving to Halifax Town and Chester where he netted 36 goals in 43 games before returning to TNS in June 2012, and was voted as the Welsh Premier League Player of The Season in the 2012/13 season. Wilde was released from his contract at Park Hall in early May.
Following the arrival of the two new players, Andy Morrison said "I am delighted to welcome Mike and Ian to the Club. They are both players who will bring experience and quality to our squad. I have worked with Ian at both Airbus and Northwich and Mike is a player that I've admired for many years.
The Welsh Premier League is very demanding and you need leaders in your team, and both of these players are leaders."
Both Ian Kearney and Michael Wilde are available for player sponsorship for the 2016/17 season - for more information on sponsoring either, or any of our players, contact email@example.com
