JD Welsh Cup

Friday night will see Connah's Quay Nomads attempt to continue our defence of the JD Welsh Cup with a trip to The Oval to face Caernarfon Town.
The Nomads face our third game in just six days having drawn with Barry Town United on Saturday, before defeating Bala Town with a late Conor Harwood winner on Tuesday night. Caernarfon Town head into the game on the back of three consecutive defeats, a run that started with our 6-2 defeat of the Cofis at Deeside Stadium just three weeks ago. Since then, Sean Eardley's men have lost out at Newtown and at home to The New Saints on Monday.
That last encounter at Deeside Stadium ended 6-2 with goals from Michael Wilde, Michael Bakare and Adam Barton complimenting a first half hat-trick from Callum Morris, but our last visit to The Oval back in October was a frustrating night as we dominated the game but were forced to settle for a 0-0 draw.
Ahead of the game, Andy Morrison said "The games are coming thick and fast - I keep challenging the players to go again and go again is exactly what we will do at Caernarfon on Friday night.
This will be our third fixture in six days - the fixture list has not been kind to us but as we saw on Tuesday night, when the lads were clearly tired, they never dropped their standards and stuck to the game plan. This is a group of players that will find a way to win and won't back down whoever the opposition are.
What will be a bonus to us is a large vociferous crowd that will create a great atmosphere and I know my players will look forward to the challenge."
The game kicks off at 7:45pm at The Oval and will be covered live by our Twitter feed as well as being featured live on the Sgorio Facebook page.
