Connah's Quay Nomads vs Barry Town United
JD Cymru Premier
Saturday 28th November 2020 | 1:30pm
Essity Stadium, Flint

Saturday afternoon will see The Nomads face Barry Town United in a live televised clash on Sgorio.

The match will kick off at the slightly earlier time than usual of 1:30pm at Deeside Stadium with coverage starting at 1:15pm - the coverage will also include an overview of Andy Morrison's five years in charge of The Nomads having marked his fifth anniversary at the club in early November.

Barry's form
Gavin Chesterfield's side currently sit fourth in the table, some eight points behind The Nomads, who are six behind leaders TNS. Barry will be looking for their first win since early October when they beat Cardiff Met 1-0. They have played five games since that win, losing two and drawing three, including a 0-0 draw against The Nomads in mid-October, a game which was spoiled by the early sending off of John Disney - a decision that was later overturned.

Previous encounters at Deeside
Since the re-emergence of the side from Jenner Park as Barry Town United, The Nomads haven't lost a home game against them, picking up two wins and two draws since their first visit in 2018. The most recent result was a late 2-0 victory - the result of goals in the 91st and 93rd minutes from Jamie Insall and Declan Poole - a result which would ultimately help secure our first ever Cymru Premier title.

From the gaffer
Ahead of the game, Andy Morrison commented; "We welcome Barry this weekend in fine form - we are ahead of where we were at this time last season and considering the catastrophic injury list we've had to deal with, it's again testament to the character of our players.

Barry have also had their own injury problems but found ways to win.

In our last encounter live on Sgorio, we played for 92 minutes with 10 men after John Disney was sent off, which was subsequently turned over.

After watching Barry last weekend, we are in for a tough encounter and we will have to be at our best to keep our incredible home record going."

Notable stats
Going into the game, Michael Wilde is just 2 goals away from netting his 70th goal for The Nomads in all competitions, having scored his 40th Cymru Premier goal for the club last weekend against Cefn Druids. Should Callum Morris start, he will be making his 135th Cymru Premier start for the club.
