Friday 4th December 2020 | 7:45pm
Park Avenue, Aberystwyth

Friday night will see Connah's Quay Nomads face our third game in six days as we head to Park Avenue to face Aberystwyth Town in the JD Cymru Premier.

The match is the only game on Friday night this week, giving The Nomads the opportunity to move to within two points of TNS at the top of the table before we face them next Saturday evening at Deeside Stadium.

Aber's Form
Aber will be looking to pick up their first win in the JD Cymru Premier since early October where they recorded a 4-0 win over Cefn Druids at The Rock. Since then, Aber have drawn with TNS and Cardiff Met whilst losing out to Bala, TNS and most recently Haverfordwest County, leaving them ninth in the table on ten points.

Previous encounters at Park Avenue
Park Avenue has not been a happy hunting ground for The Nomads over recent years, having picked up just two victories in our last eight visits. Those two victories came in 2019 and 2016 in the form of 6-1 and 3-1 victories. Our most recent visit was in October 2019, a game which finished 1-1 after Jamie Insall gave The Nomads the lead in the first half before Matthew Jones netted a 90th minute penalty to give Aber a share of the spoils.

From the gaffer
Speaking after The Nomads 2-0 victory over Flint Town United on Tuesday night, Andy Morrison said; "I always hope in this league that when you go to a team, you want them to have won the game before, so they're definitely going to be at it and be a handful - especially there on a Friday night - it's always a difficult place, so we're going to try something and go there and be incredibly brave and force the game and have a real go at them and try and impose our qualities and our physicality, our pace and our strength early on in that game."

Notable Stats
As mentioned recently, Mike Wilde is just one goal away from 70 in all competitions for The Nomads, and similarly, George Horan is just one away from 40 in all competitions, having been denied his 40th by an offside flag against Flint on Tuesday night.
