Connah's Quay Nomads are delighted to announce that our talismanic captain, George Horan has signed a new one year deal at the club.

In his two spells at Deeside Stadium, Horan has made over 350 appearances in all competitions and since returning to the club in 2014 has led The Nomads to some of the most historic moments in the club's history.

The 2015-16 season saw Horan lead The Nomads to UEFA Europa League qualification for the first time in the Club's history, a feat which he has since repeated in an additional four consecutive seasons.

Horan has also captained the side to the JD Welsh Cup victory in 2018 and the Cymru Premier and Nathaniel MG Cup double in 2020 as well as runners up medals in the 2019 JD Welsh Cup and Scottish Challenge Cup.

On his new deal, Horan said "Having been back at the club for the last six years I've seen an amazing progression year-on-year and I'm looking forward to see what next year brings for us."

Manager, Andy Morrison added; "At the Virtual Awards evening that we did, I spoke about how some player's standards are so consistent season after season that they often don’t get mentioned - George definitely falls into that category.

No current player in the Cymru Premier has been in the League Team of the Season for five seasons on the bounce apart from George and in my eyes he has got to be a contender for the Cymru Premier Player of the Season."
