The Nomads are pleased to announce the signing of central defender, Mike Pearson.

Pearson follows fellow ex-Airbus players, Ian Kearney and Jay Owen who also recently joined The Nomads.

The defensive duo of Pearson and Kearney had played together at Airbus since the 2013-14 season when Pearson joined from Barrow. Kearney had been with The Wingmakers since 2012 and the pair formed a strong partnership leading Airbus to consecutive Europa League qualifications, amassing a combined 156 Welsh Premier League appearances between them.

Pearson originally began his career with football league side Oldham Athletic, where he made a handful of first team appearances. Having progressed through Oldham's youth system, he made several appearances for the reserve team before being promoted to the first team, making his first-team debut against Millwall in a 2-1 loss on 17 February 2007. In the summer of 2007, Pearson signed a one-year contract extension to remain at Boundary Park. Pearson was loaned out to Farsley Celtic of Conference National between October and December 2007.

Pearson joined Barrow in the summer of 2008; his highlight and lowlight at the club being in the 2008/09 FA Cup clash with then-Premier League side Middlesbrough. The game saw him receive an injury in the 52nd minute after a challenge with Marvin Emnes, where he sustained a double leg-break, which ruled him out for the remainder of the season.

Pearson made over 150 league appearances for Barrow, but he left the Cumbrian outfit when they were relegated in at the end of the 2012/13 season, which prompted his move to Airbus UK Broughton.

Following an outstanding couple of seasons at Airbus, Pearson was recently voted into the Welsh Premier League Team of the Season for the second successive season.

Following the arrival of the Pearson, Andy Morrison said "I'm delighted to have signed Mike Pearson, a player I've worked with at Airbus. Mike is right in his prime and I was surprised he would be out of contract and we were able to sign him. I'd also like to thank Airbus for releasing Mike early and making him available for our Europa League squad."

Additionally, The Nomads can confirm that Club Captain, George Horan recently signed a new one year deal at the Club. While George will continue his time at Deeside, The Nomads can also confirm the release of Jay Crowther and Sean Miller, while Kevin McIntyre has retired from the game. The Nomads would like to extend their thanks to Jay, Sean and Kevin for their efforts over the last two seasons and wish them all the best in their future endeavours.

Morrison added; "George is a great example of what you can achieve if you keep fit and apply yourself correctly to every training session. His performances have been top drawer week in, week out. With regards to Jay, Sean and Kev, all three played a big part in our success last year and I would have liked to have kept them all, but we can't carry as big a squad as some of the teams in the League."
