The Nomads can today deliver an update on the injury suffered by defender Ian Kearney during The Nomads' 2-1 victory over Cardiff Met last week.
During the early part of the second half, Kearney, during an unchallenged run, slipped awkwardly on Cardiff Met's 3G surface.
At the time, the worst was feared, and further tests have reveaded the full extent of the injury to Kearney's knee.
Kearney has suffered damage to his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and nearby cartilage. Initial tests speculate that Kearney will be out for the remainder of the 2016-17 season, and the Club are hoping that he will be able to undergo surgery in the next 7-10 days. Following that, course of rehabilitation will likely take between 9-12 months.
Manager Andy Morrison said "Sadly we have lost Ian Kearney for the season after his terrible injury at Cardiff - he's been fantastic for us both in Europe and domestically, but if any player can deal with such a serious injury twice in such a short time it's Ian - he will get the full support of the Club and we all look forward to him being back for pre-season next year"
