Earlier today, The Nomads were pleased to announce the signing of central defender Kai Edwards from Vanarama Conference side, Wrexham. We sat down and spoke with our newest signing following his first training session with the club last night.

How does it feel to be a Nomads player?
I'm very excited to be a Nomads player - I'm looking forward to getting started with the games ahead now that I'm here.

What are your early impressions of the club and squad?
First impressions were very positive. Obviously I know a lot of the lads having spent time in the league before and played with a couple of them at TNS. There are some very good players at the club and I look forward to playing with them.

What attracted you to the club?
The chance to play in Europe again in the summer. Also, the players, Andy and his staff at the club were a big factor for me.

What targets do you have in mind for the remainder of the season?
It's got to be securing second place and automatic European qualification whilst winning as many games as possible.

You know the league well from your time at TNS, what do you think you can bring to the team?
Hopefully I can bring a bit more experience to the side having spent six seasons in the league prior to joining Wrexham. Hopefully my strengths of my game will be postivie for the team in getting the right results and staking the claim for European football.

How important was Andy Morrison in you joining the club?
Andy was a very important part of me joining the club. We have spoken a lot recently and his desire to win football games along with his experience playing in the same position as myself will only make me a better player going forwards with The Nomads.

You are eligible to play in our final phase one game against Bala Town - what sort of challenge do you see Bala posing in that game?
Bala are a strong side and have some goo players in their team - players that are a real threat going forwards and it will be a tough test, but one that the team and I are looking forward to.

It has also been confirmed that Edwards will wear the number three shirt at Deeside and will be eligible for The Nomads' final phase one fixture against Bala Town on Saturday 14th January.
