Connah's Quay Nomads are pleased to announce the signing of central defender, Johnny Spittle.

23-year-old Spittle joins The Nomads following a recent spell at Aberystwyth Town, with his final game for the Black and Greens coming against The Nomads. Prior to his time at Aber, Spittle played for both Llandudno and Airbus, working under Andy Morrison during his time at Airbus.

Spittle had previously had spells at Wigan Athletic, Blackburn Rovers and Rochdale before entering the Welsh league. During his time at Airbus, Llandudno and Aber, Spittle made 58 starts, six substitute appearances and weighed in with five goals.

Spittle joins The Nomads on a full-time contract and will wear the number four shirt.

On Spittle's arrival, Andy Morrison said "I have worked with Jonny previously at Airbus and have closely followed his development in recent years. Jonny fits the profile of the type of player we are looking to bring into the club - at 23, he's a young Welsh Premier League centre half who we feel, by going full time, will help develop his game and bring more strength to our squad."

Following the move, Spittle took to Twitter to comment;
