Connah's Quay Nomads are pleased to announce the signing of 25-year-old midfielder Rob Hughes.

Hughes has spent the last 12 months in Australia, playing for Goulbourn Valley Suns where he made 25 appearances, scoring 12 goals in his time down under. Prior to his trip to Australia, Hughes was best known for his time at Rhyl and previously at Prestatyn Town in the Welsh Premier League, where he worked under The Nomads' new First Team Coach, Neil Gibson.

During his time in the Welsh Premier League, Hughes made 45 starts and 21 substitute appearances at both Rhyl and Prestatyn, netting on 8 occasions.

On Hughes' arrival, Andy Morrison said "We're delighted to sign Rob - he's a player that I have admired for many years and have tried to sign in the past. Gibbo [Neil Gibson] brought it to our attention that Rob was back in the UK and played a major role is Rob joining us over a list of other Welsh Premier League suitors."

Hughes will wear the number 21 shirt and will be available for selection once the Club receive international clearance.
