Connah's Quay Nomads are pleased to announce that John Danby has signed a one-year full time deal with the club.

Danby originally joined The Nomads in May 2015 and has since gone on to make over 130 starts for the club in all competitions including 93 starts in the Welsh Premier League.

Danby was named in the 2016/17 Welsh Premier League Team of the Season alongside fellow Nomads George Horan and Nathan Woolfe and has been instrumental in the side having the meanest defence in the league for the past two successive seasons.

On his new contract, Danby said "I'm really pleased to have signed for antoher year. It's been a great season and I feel like we've moved forwards again. Having spoke to the gaffer, it was a no-brainer to sign again - he's always looking to improve on and off the field and I think that reflects in his teams and the results he gets.

On a personal note, I'm always looking to improve and having goalkeeping coach, Neil Ebbrell at the club is a major factor for me - the main aim will be to close the gap and really push TNS in the league and hopefully that's something we can do this season."
