Thursday night saw Connah's Quay Nomads Ladies win their first ever fixture at The Quay 3G in a 5-2 victory against Wrexham Ladies.

The match was a great success for the club which saw The Nomads race into a our goal lead within the first 25 minutes of the game. Wrexham did pull a goal back before half time and another after half time before a fifth Nomads goal secured a fantastic 5-2 victory in the team's first ever game in front of a good crowd at The Quay 3G.

Wrexham currently ply their trade in the North Wales Women's League First Division, while The Nomads enter the competition in the second division, so hopefully this result will point the team in the right direction for the new season!

Both Candice Nellist and Lani Bouckley netted two apiece with Tonicha Dickens also finding the net.

Following the game, Manager Sara Hilton commented saying; "It was a fantastic opportunity to see the players in action. The girls have take on board so much information in such a short space of time and I couldn't ask any more from them. The confidence that they all showed to get the ball down and play was great to see and I'm thoroughly looking forward to the season ahead."
