Connah's Quay Nomads are pleased to announce the signing of 22 year old goalkeeper, Oliver Byrne.

Byrne has previously played at Stevenage Borough and Atherton Collieries, having spent much of his youth at three of the top academies in the country in the form of Blackburn Rovers, Cardiff City and Manchester United.

Byrne was part of the Manchester United U18 team that also included Marcus Rashford, Tim Fosu-Mensah and Axel Tuanzebe.

On joining The Nomads, Byrne said "I'm delighted to have signed for The Nomads - I've been training with the club since November and have enjoyed every session.

I am looking forwards to being involved in matchdays and working under Andy and his staff. I had other offers on the table, but the professionalism and hunger of the club is what swung my decision. I'm really looking forward to the second half of the season and helping The Nomads to more silverware."

Byrne will wear the number 13 shirt at Deeside and is currently awaiting international clearance from the English FA.
