On International Women's Day 2020, Connah's Quay Nomads are pleased to announce that Emma-Clare Hewitt, pictured left, has joined the club's executive board.

Emma, 31, a banking professional from Chester, has followed The Nomads' progress as a home and away fan for the past two seasons, and will now advise in a board member role to continue our growth on and off the pitch.

Her appointment brings the number of women on the board to a new club record of three, and puts Connah's Quay Nomads amongst the top clubs for gender parity at a board level in the league system.

Emma-Clare said: "I'm delighted to be joining the board to help ensure we maintain our status as a leading JD Cymru Premier club, having seen our stunning progress at first hand over the past couple of seasons.

"It's fantastic to be joining the board alongside our chair Victoria Roycroft and Roma Gray to further improve the gender balance at Nomads, which is something we want to see across the game as a whole.

"We have a fantastic fan base at Deeside who have welcomed me as well as players and the management team - it's been brilliant to get to know them all through our shared passion for Nomads.

Victoria Roycroft added: "Emma is a great addition to the board as well as a sign that more and more women are getting involved in Welsh Football, which is brilliant to see.

"We're proud have her as our latest female member of the board, which has gone from just one woman to three in the past three years, again showing the improvements we've made.

"From the board to our backroom staff, and our Nomads Ladies team reaching the semi finals of the FAW Women's Cup, this club is certainly one where women are playing a massive role in its success."
