Following The Nomads' 3-1 victory over Newtown in the JD Welsh Premier League, Assistant Manager Jay Catton spoke to Nik Mesney immediately following the game.
A fantastic win
"[It was] A fantastic win... the performance was great - three games in six days was always going to be a challenge and an opposition the standard of Newtown tonight, which we knew was going to be tough, we knew it was going to be an unbelievable challenge with the quality of team they've got, the quality of squad they've got - if you look at their bench tonight, it's a top six squad..."
"Credit Jay Owen, because people will look at that and won't see the detail behind that - they won't see the organisation from the set play, they won't see the anticipation from Jay and then the technique - he's a very very gifted footballer and a lot of the attributes Jay Owen has, in the league maybe go unrecognised, but we recognise it, we recognise how good of a footballer Jay Owen is..."
Great attacking players
"... great attacking players, Ryan Wignall the other night against Caernarfon, although by his standards maybe a number of the crosses he was disappointed with the standard but then to come back tonight and he did what he did and there was end product tonight and when he has his end products, he's one of the best wingers within the league, and Callum is going from strength to strength as a box-to-box centre midfielder that can play, that can lead and he's been an outlet and been captain in a number of games as well so pleasing for both and deserved - it's been a very very tough week..."
