Connah's Quay Nomads will face a trip to Caernarfon Town in the Quarter Finals of the 2019 JD Welsh Cup.
The draw made on Monday night, live on S4C's Heno saw The Nomads come out of the draw as the final team, facing a trip to Caernarfon Town, who beat Bangor City this past Saturday to qualify for the quarter finals.
The Nomads overcame a one goal deficit at Carmarthen to come out 3-1 winners in our trip south last weekend and this will mark our third consecutive away game in the competition this season as we aim to retain the famous Cup for the first time in our history.
The full draw was as follows;
• Llandudno vs The New Saints
• Bala Town vs Cardiff Met
• Barry Town United vs Cambrian & Clydach
• Caernarfon Town vs Connah's Quay Nomads
The sides have met twice in the first phase of the JD Welsh Premier League with the Canaries edging the games, with a 1-0 victory at Deeside followed by a 0-0 draw at The Oval and we will face again in the second phase of the league on Friday 8th February before this cup game takes place.
On the draw, Andy Morrison said "Ideally we wanted TNS at home! If you're going to win the Welsh Cup, it's going to be a tough journey - Guilsfield away, Carmarthen away and now Caernarfon away is a real test of our desire to retain the Cup. I know that the mindset of our players will be 'bring it on!'"
The ties are to be played across the weekend of March 1st-3rd and confirmation of the exact time and date will be announced in the coming weeks.
