Connah's Quay Nomads vs Ross County - Irn Bru Cup Final - 23rd March 2019

Inverness confirmed as Irn Bru Cup Final venue

Date Published: Friday, 22nd February, 2019 - 9:24pm by Nik Mesney

The SPFL have today confirmed that Inverness' Caledonian Stadium will host the final of the 2019 Irn Bru Cup.

The Nomads will face Ross County in the final with the match taking place on Saturday 23rd March with a 4:30 kick off.

The Nomads have been drawn as the home team and as a result will have the home dressing rooms at the 7512 capacity stadium.

The game will be broadcast live on BT Sport, S4C (dual commentary) and BBC Alba (Gaelic commentary).

Ticket prices for the final will be confirmed shortly.

On the confirmation of the game, Inverness-born Andy Morrison said: "First and foremost, we're delighted to be in a final - it's a reward for all the hard work put in by the staff and players over four very testing games.

It will be great to head back to the place of my birth, it's always beautiful in early spring and I understand the reason for the final being in Invereness, but for me, it seems very unfair on our team and the fans that will now have to travel such a distance.

It gives Ross County, who are already clear favourites, an even bigger advantage as their ground is 10 miles down the road, whereas we'll be travelling around 400 miles.

But as I originally said, we are delighted to be in the final and can't wait for the opportunity to challenge ourselves against the leaders of the Scottish Championship."

Keep your eyes peeled on our official channels for further information regarding the game as and when we get it.
