Franklin returns to The Nomads

Connah's Quay Nomads are delighted to announce the return of Harry Franklin to the club for an undisclosed fee.

Franklin returns to The Nomads having spent the 2024/25 season at Irish side, Crusaders where he scored five goals in 26 starts as the side finished sixth in the NIFL Premiership.

Franklin signed for the Northern Irish side following a very successful spell at The Nomads between 2022 and 2024, in which time he scored 18 goals in 53 games, including scoring the first goal in the 2024 JD Welsh Cup Final victory over The New Saints.

Prior to his arrival at The Nomads, Franklin was known to Welsh football fans for his time at Aberystwyth Town where he had impressed on numerous occasions scoring eight goals in 34 games.

Born in Lisburn, Northern Ireland, Harry spent the majority of his youth at Hereford which included a loan spell at Merthyr Town before joining Redditch United for a season and a half and then joined Evesham United in October 2019. Franklin impressed during his time at Evesham and signed for Aberystwyth in February 2021.

On re-joining The Nomads Franklin commented; "I'm really looking forward to coming back to Connah's Quay and can't wait to get started - I really enjoyed my time at Crusaders but being closer to home was a big draw in coming back and after speaking to Dis I knew it was something I wanted to be a part of again and I'm really excited for the upcoming season!"

First Team Manager John Disney added; "Once we as a club heard of the opportunity of bringing Harry back it was something we wanted to act quickly on - Harry is someone I have stayed in contact with after playing together for several years and he was extremely excited by the new challenge and direction the club are going with the new Hybrid programme.

Harry will come back into the group as an extremely popular member on and off the pitch. Harry possesses qualities that few other players in his position have and has the experience of another year playing over 30 games in a different and challenging league which I am sure we will benefit from and something he can pass on to some of our younger players.

If we can get Harry delivering the performances that rightfully earnt himself that move in to full time football, I am sure we will all be extremely happy.

Thanks must go to Crusaders for facilitating this from their side and also to our chairman Gary Dewhurst for backing this."

Franklin will wear the number 12 shirt and will be available for competitive selection following International Clearance.
