Nomads go West ahead of new season

Connah's Quay Nomads are delighted to confirm the signing of 19-year-old midfielder Callum West ahead of the new season.

West has spent much of his formative years at high level academies, including Burnley and Barnsley having originally started out at Macclesfield - West has also made a number of senior appearances for both Hyde United and Hebburn Town during a couple of loan spells.

Callum will benefit from being a part of our new Hybrid First Team model.

On confirming the signing, Manager John Disney commented; "Callum is a player who I first saw playing for Macclesfield at 16 and caught my eye right away with his fantastic left foot and was rightfully rewarded a full time move to Burnley. Callum also made his senior professional debut at Barnsley last season and is another very versatile player with wonderful fitness levels, Callum has had three years in full time football and once the opportunity to become a full time player here arose it was something he and his family wanted to commit to.

He holds himself and others to a very high standard, his work rate, dedication and commitment will ensure he settles well with ourselves and we all welcome Callum to the club and hope it’s a start of a successful period for himself in Men’s football."

On joining The Nomads, Callum added; "I am really excited and looking forward to this new opportunity. I think the new hybrid model is a great way for me to continue developing and also getting men's minutes is something else that will be important in my development. I'm looking forward to pre-season and learning from the experienced lads."

West will wear the number 8 shirt at the club.
