Tuesday afternoon saw Connah’s Quay Nomads host our Strategic planning event, The Quay Vision, at our partner venue, Ty Calon in Queensferry, Deeside.
The event was hosted by renowned sports broadcaster, Bryn Law and was attended by around 100 local business members, club partners, local authority staff as well as fans, players and club staff alike.
The event focused on the new eight pillars of strategic growth that have been put in place by the Football Association of Wales to help grow the Welsh Domestic game in the coming years.
The key takeaway from the event and for partners of Connah’s Quay Nomads was the news that the club are looking to potentially build a new stadium at the Ty Calon site to provide a 4000 seater multi-use stadium.
The potential new stadium would see not only a new home for The Nomads and local rugby team, Shotton Steel RFC, but also give the opportunity for International football and rugby matches to be hosted at the stadium due to the plans put in place around the new ground.

Attendees of the event were shown some imagery of potential ideas of what the stadium could look like as provided by F3 Architects and then briefly walked from the building to the potential new site some 100 yards away to give a feel of just where the stadium would be located, where Director of Football Jay Catton gave a brief overview of the potential layout of the new site.
