Connah’s Quay Nomads FC, one of the leading clubs in the Cymru Premier, are offering two separate exclusive paid internship roles for a motivated and ambitious Strength and Conditioning Coach and Team Support Officer.
The successful candidates will provide hands-on experience in a high-performance environment, supporting the First Team through strength and conditioning, sports science and end-stage rehab duties.
These will be season-long roles and you will be assisting our matchday staff in competitions such as the UEFA Conference League, Cymru Premier and Welsh Cup in Europe and across Wales.
Key Responsibilities - Strength and Conditioning Coach:
1. Lead the planning and delivery of pitch and gym-based physical development at two weekly training sessions and all First Team home and away matches.
2. Lead the collection, analysis and reporting of training and match load monitoring.
3. Provide concise, data-driven feedback to First Team coaching staff and players following matches and sessions.
4. Develop and monitor gym-based strength and conditioning programming for the First Team squad.
5. Support the team with supervision and preparation on matchdays (match day warm up, GPS, nutritional strategies, additional conditioning).
6. Assist the medical department physiological testing and screening of players throughout the season.
Key Responsibilities - Team Support Officer:
1. Assist with the overall First Team nutrition strategy, ensuring alignment and the integration of nutrition practices.
2. Provide support at two training sessions per week and matchdays.
3. Ensure that each player’s individual needs are targeted.
4. Help deliver periodised nutrition strategies aligned with performance objectives, training and competition demands.
5. Oversee all matchday provision, attending home and away fixtures, delivering hands-on provision where required.
6. Assist with other First Team duties set by management staff.
Requirements (relevant for both roles):
1. Passion for football and athletic development with a desire to work in an elite environment.
2. Basic experience with GPS analysis software (e.g. Statsport, Catapult, Player Data).
3. Clear and confident communication skills, both written and verbal.
4. Highly organised, reliable, and able to manage own workload.
5. Willing and available for evening/weekend work to cover training and matches.
6. Own transport is desirable due to travel commitments.
