Partridge Pens First Professional Contract

Connah’s Quay Nomads are pleased to announce young talent Conor Partridge has signed his first professional contract with the club.

This will be Partridge’s fifth year at the Nomads having climbed up the ranks from U14 level. He has now enjoyed a successful scholarship, where he was part of our FAW Development North title-winning Men’s Steven Gerrard Academy U19s side this past season.

The 18-year-old’s second half strike in a 4-3 win over The New Saints last October was perhaps one of the defining and most crucial moments en route to that silverware.

Partridge featured four times for our Men’s First Team in the JD Cymru Premier in 2025/26, which included a first senior start in our final game of the season against Colwyn Bay.

He also made an impact on the international stage after scoring for the Welsh Schools FA in a 3-1 win over Republic of Ireland in the Welsh Centenary Shield.

Partridge will be a key part of our setup for the 2026/27 season and will continue to gain more senior minutes as John Disney’s side continue preparations for the UEFA Conference League and upcoming domestic campaign.

“Signing my first contract with the club is a proud moment for me and one that I have worked towards since joining at the age of 14,'' said Partridge. ‘’ It has been an incredible journey filled with hard work, dedication and valuable lessons both on and off the pitch. I am extremely grateful to everyone at the club who has supported and believed in me throughout the years, helping me develop as a player and a person.

“I also want to say thank you to my teammates, family, and everyone else who has supported me throughout my journey and helped me get to this point. I’m looking forward to the season ahead, working hard and making the most of every opportunity that comes my way.”

First Team Manager John Disney added: ‘’Conor is a player from day one in my coaching journey at the club that excited me. I could see how versatile and hungry he was.

“Conor was always a player that went under the radar until I saw the potential in himself and ended up playing himself years above his age group at 16 in my first year coaching. Full credit must go to  himself and his family for how hard he has worked to ensure in my opinion he is the best youth player in the Welsh system the last few seasons.

“Myself and the club have high hopes for Conor and that was proven none more so by himself deservedly playing and starting for us in the second phase of the season just gone alongside representing and being very successful in the wales youth ages groups.

“I am extremely excited to keep working with Conor and after interest from plenty of other clubs in the English system it is great to see Conor trusts the plan we have for himself at the club and I have no doubt he will play a big part in the First Team this season.”
