Prestatyn Town FC vs Connah's Quay Nomads
JD Cymru Premier
Friday 16th October 2009 | 7:30pm
Bastion Gardens, Prestatyn | Attendance: 309
PRESTATYN went second in the table with this victory, but were made to work hard by a Connah's Quay side that produced the better football in a poor first-half and then threatened a late fight back.
Nomads failed to take their chances in the first 45 minutes and were hit by a double whammy soon after the break.
Andy Moran got on the end of a long ball and lobbed onrushing keeper Terry McCormick from the edge of the box to give the Seasiders the lead and, within six minutes it got worse for the visitors.
Alan Hooley was adjudged to have brought down Alec Williams and Moran made no mistake from the spot.
Michael Parker's 84th-minute goal appeared to have put the hosts in the comfort zone, but late goals from substitutes Mike Hayes and Chris Herbert set-up a tense final few minutes for Neil Gibson's side.
