Port Talbot endured a disappointing afternoon, losing 2-0 at home to revamped gap Connah's Quay.

Having won their first home game last week against NEWI Cefn Druids, manager Nicky Tucker was looking to consolidate but was totally frustrated by an inept home display.

Former Swansea City striker Tommy Mutton scored the first goal for the Nomads in the 17th minute when he turned in the box and superbly fired past goalkeeper Kristian Rogers.

And Liam Loughlin added to home woes when he capitalised on some uncertainty in the Steelmen's defence to net the second four minutes from the break.

Liam McCreesh and James Burgin did their best to inspire a revival but Quay goalkeeper Chris Maxwell was equal to the task.

Late on, Rogers made several further saves to prevent an even more embarrassing defeat for the hosts.

"I'm not happy at all. Eight of my players were poor and you cannot afford to carry that many," said Tucker.

"We were never at the races and it's very much back to the drawing board. We have put enormous pressure on ourselves for next week but we got what we deserved today - nothing."
