In what was probably the last Welsh Premier game to be staged at the Deeside Stadium which has been their home for the past 10 years, Connah's Quay were forced to settle for a point after a late equaliser from Caernarfon.

The Nomads led from the 40th-minute when a poor back pass from Canaries' assistant manager Peter Smith eluded keeper Lee Guinion and found the back of the net.

The draw was no more than the relegated Canaries deserved after dominating for much of the game but found it difficult to convert possession into goals.

Neither keeper was forced to make a significant save throughout the game, although the home defence was forced to clear one effort off the line.

Michael Cronshaw had an effort tipped over the crossbar by visiting keeper Guinion who nipped-in to save the day when Liam Loughlin hesitated in front of goal.

And Caernarfon finally got their reward when former Nomads' striker Ged Courtney cut in from the left to fire across keeper Terry McCormick into the far corner in the 89th minute.
