Caernarfon and Connah's Quay both surrendered their 100% records, but remained unbeaten after a 1-1 stalemate at The Oval.

There was little to enthuse the supporters in a dull game which provided few clues as to why either side is riding high at this stage of the season.

The Canaries were soon flying after Chris Noone latched onto a left wing cross to beat returning Town keeper Paul Pritchard after just four minutes.

But the hosts failed to convert their chances and paid the price on 73 minutes when debutant Matt Atherton headed-in from a Chris Williams corner.

Paul Addo had dragged a shot wide for Caernarfon, while James Glendenning sent a 25-yard free-kick over the bar.

Sub Layton Maxwell almost found a home winner on his seasonal debut, but fired wide, and Addo also spurned a heading chance to leave honours even.
