Haverfordwest County AFC vs Connah's Quay Nomads
JD Cymru Premier
Saturday 15th September 2007 | 2:30pm
Bridge Meadow Stadium, Haverfordwest | Attendance: 0
A trip to West Wales was a day to forget for Nomads, who arrived shortly before kick-off after their coach driver got lost and then suffered a six-goal mauling at the hands of Haverfordwest.
The win moved the Bluebirds into second place after an excellent start to the campaign in which young strike duo Jack Christopher and Nick Woodrow have been too hot to handle for some defences.
County had to come from a goal down when Ryan Durham put through his own net, but Christopher restored parity immediately by lobbing Quay keeper Paul Pritchard.
For the second week running, Neil Thomas fired in an unstoppable 20-yarder and Woodrow extended the lead three minutes before the break from Phil Cattlin's pass.
Chris Melia gave Nomads a toe-hold shortly after the interval when blasting a low shot past keeper Lee Idzi, but hopes of a revival were blown away by two goals in two minutes.
Woodrow completed his brace and Lee Hudgell scored twice to give Nomads plenty to think about on the long journey back to Deeside.
