Connah's Quay Nomads vs Aberystwyth Town FC
JD Cymru Premier
Saturday 20th October 2007 | 2:30pm
Deeside Stadium, Connah's Quay | Attendance: 0
A Luke Sherbon piledriver eight minutes from time gave Aberystwyth the points to deny Connah's Quay a point they had deserved.
The Seasiders applied early pressure and Nomads' Gary Pinch was forced to clear a Stuart Roberts header off his own line, while an Aneurin Thomas shot rebounded off the underside of the crossbar into the grateful arms of keeper Paul Pritchard.
But the hosts took the lead three minutes before the break when John McAllister fired through a crowded box from a corner.
The Black & Greens were back on level terms straight away, when a powerful Christian Edwards header from a free-kick deflected off the luckless Pinch into his own goal.
Nomads pressed for a winner in the second half and looked good value for a point, until Sherbon shocked the home faithful with a shot into the bottom corner from just inside the edge of the area.
