Connah's Quay defended manfully against Llanelli and the elements until 11 minutes from time, finally capitulating to a Wyn Thomas goal.

Nomads failed to clear from a corner and the central defender seized on the loose ball to finally break the deadlock.

Quay nearly hit back when Paul Wanless dwelt too long on the ball on his own goal line, but then caved-in to a three-goal onslaught in the closing minutes.

Mark Jones chased down a clearance to beat keeper Paul Pritchard and fire into an empty net before prolific marksman Rhys Griffiths added the icing on the cake with a quickfire brace.

His first came from the penalty spot after Jones was up-ended in the box and he struck again two minutes later with a header from Andrew Mumford's corner.
