Port Talbot Town FC vs Connah's Quay Nomads
JD Cymru Premier
Saturday 31st March 2007 | 2:30pm
Victoria Road, Port Talbot | Attendance: 0
CONNAH'S Quay mounted a smash and grab raid to maintain their superb record at The Remax Stadium. They have won three and drawn three on their previous visits to Port Talbot, but they were more than fortunate the leave town with the points in the bag.
Midfielder Chris Sargeant struck the game's only goal, curling a 25-yard free-kick into the roof of the Steelmen's net, but Talbot could have had a hatful if they had taken their chances.
Dylan Blain just failed to get on the end of a Lee John cross, Dane Williams blazed an eight-yarder over the bar and John hit the woodwork just before the break.
Danny Jellicoe denied John on the resumption and Blain's fierce shot was punched away by Paul Smith, but Nomads held out to revive their faltering European dreams.
