Friday night saw The Nomads' home fixture with Bangor City abandoned after 16 minutes when the Deeside Stadium floodlights failed.

The matched started with a lively Nomads' crowd firmly behind the home side, but on two minutes, Les Davies silenced the home support with an early strike. Davies pounced on a mis-hit clearance from Terry McCormick before coolly slotting in a left-footed strike.

Bangor continued to pressure The Nomads' defence and Davies was unlucky not to find the net for a second time as he somehow managed to sky the ball over the cross bar from within the six yard box as he dove in to meet a right wing cross, but found McCormick flying at his feet to put the striker off.

The Nomads were starting to gain some possession in the Bangor City half with success coming down the right wing as Sean Miller challenged the Bangor defence, and Miller's pace caught out left-back Chris Roberts, who appeared to tweak his hamstring and was replaced by Joe Culshaw.

The Nomads' only half-chance of a short-lived game came when George Horan headed a corner towards goal, only to have referee pull the game back for a free kick for pushing in the box.

The resulting free-kick was hammered upfield by Bangor City 'keeper Jack Cudworth and shortly after the Deeside Stadium floodlights cut out. The players attempted to keep warm on the field as officials tried to restart the floodlights, however 30 minutes later, officials from the FAW, The Nomads and Bangor City agreed to abandon the match.
