Tuesday evening saw The Nomads fight out a 0-0 draw with Cefn Druids.

Nomads went into the game with high hopes, having previously defeated top six side Bala Town 1-0.  The game was a crucial one for both clubs, as they stood equal on points in the table, with Druids in 10th and The Nomads in 9th place.  The game saw a number of ex-Nomads return to Deeside, including Craig Jones, Ryan Edwards, Chris Herbert and ex player-manager Mark McGregor.

The game began and neither side really took a hold of the game throughout, making for an entertaining match for the neutral.  David Forbes ran onto goal, but 'keeper Louis Gray got to the ball first.  Minutes later, Fraughan pushed into the Druids' box, but the ball was once again cleared to safety for the away side.

Cefn Druids went on the attack, with Terry McCormick coming well out his area to tackle Phil Marsh, before Jack Riley brought an end to the danger by clearing the ball via a sliding challenge.

Guinea-Bissau International Bruno Fernandes had a shot on goal, saved yards from the line by a sliding block from Horan.  As the half went on, the pace of the game increased with Bull sending a cross into the six yard box to Forbes, who had his shot saved.

At half time the score stood deservedly at 0-0 with both teams having chances, but staying solid at the back.  The second half saw a faster and scrappier affair as both sides chased for the win.  This began with Bull and Forbes once again pairing, the former who passed to Forbes, then laid the ball square into the box only for no red shirt to be there to connect with it.

Cefn Druids had a number of opportunities on goal, including when Tom Donegan hit a shot towards goal which McCormick saved.  Rob Jones whipped a dangerous looking shot in, and the Deeside Crowd watched as it went agonisingly wide.  Fraughan had a similar attempt go shy of the goal.

Tom Donegan again threatened, going 1 on 1 with McCormick who brilliantly ran out and swept the ball from the Druids' striker’s feet.  The Nomads made the introduction of Jack Chambers and Marcus Giglio to try and prise a win out of an extremely tight game.

Druids went on another attack as time ran down on the clock, but as was typical of the game, The Nomads were there to successfully defend via a Jack Chambers tackle.  A late introduction of Steve Evans could still not find the elusive goal for Nomads, with referee Lee Evans blowing the whistle after 3 minutes of injury with the score The Nomads 0-0 Cefn Druids.

Although frustrated not to win, The Nomads earned a draw against a team who may well be their closest rivals in this phase 2.  Catton and Bickerstaff’s men now take a break from league football, facing Bala Town in the Welsh Cup on Saturday the 7th, for a 2:30pm kick off.
