Connah's Quay Nomads vs The New Saints FC
JD Cymru Premier
Friday 12th November 2004 | 7:30pm
Deeside Stadium, Connah's Quay | Attendance: 240
TNS equalled their best-ever league win as they demolished Connah's Quay on Deeside.
A strong wind and some erratic goalkeeping from Matthew Hogg saw the Saints establish a five-goal interval lead.
Marc Lloyd-Williams crossed for John Toner to open the account with an far post strike after seven minutes, with the league's leading scorer adding two more to his tally after errors in the Nomads' rearguard.
Martin Naylor's 25-yard free kick flew straight into the net through a crowded goalmouth, with Chris King's cross for Michael Wilde' header the pick of the goals.
John Toner was stretchered off on the half-hour after a vicious tackle from George Horan that went unpunished and TNS introduced youth Craig Ryan for his debut in the second-half, which saw the home side contain the damage until the last five minutes.
John Lawless seized on another goalkeeping blunder before John Leah fired in a 30-yard free kick to add to the Nomads' misery.
