The Nomads team along with a bunch of enthusiastic supporters climbed aboard the coach early on a grey November morning for the midweek replay at Glenhafod Park, Port Talbot. On a level, though wet, playing surface Nomads did the job they felt they ought to have done on the previous Saturday but it took a while to overcome the hard-working Goytre United outfit. Everyone in the Connah's Quay side played his part although midfielders Craig Hutchinson, Darren Wynne and especially Jon Kenworthy were the key to the success. If anything the margin of victory might have been greater such was Nomads' second-half superiority.

Nevertheless, a first-half of spurned opportunities for the visitors ended with Goytre United 1-nil to the good despite ending the half with only ten men, Robert Williams slotting a 34th minute penalty kick past Phil Collister. That goal apart the home team had given Nomads little trouble whilst the Quay carved out and then scorned several goalscoring chances. That was soon forgotten once Jamie Hughes had clinically converted a 55th minute penalty awarded for a clear handball.

With Kenworthy running the show Nomads gained in strength and it was all that Goytre could do to keep the score to reasonable proportions. With 20 minutes remaining Kenworthy and Hughes set up Steve Futcher for a superb strike from the edge of the penalty area and nine minutes later Jon Kenworthy netted his first goal for the club from close range. The scoring was completed in the 83rd minute when Matthew Norris palmed a Neil Davies effort in the path of Jamie Hughes who comfortably bagged his 14th goal of the season.
