To conclude a wet and cold Sunday of football the first-team took to the Dee Park pitch to play Yorkshire side Rossington Main in a pre season friendly.

Academy player George Baxter played the full ninety minutes, with fellow academy players Wyn Pierce, Jordan Beck, Jamie Wynne and Rhys Healey making further appearances in the second half.

Nomads started the game well going in 2-0 up at the break courtesy of two goals from Gary O'Toole, his second coming after some good work from George Baxter on the right hand side.

But with a number of changes at half time The Nomads' performance seemed to dip from the first period and they found themselves trailing by three goals to two.

Nomads equalised thanks to trialist Iwan Williams’s good finish after youth player Rhys Healey’s well struck shot was parried with the follow up latched onto by Williams.

With just a few minutes remaining some good play from the midfield involving youth player Jamie Wynne set Jordan Beck away down the left wing for him to cut into the area and finish well into the bottom corner to give the Nomads the win.

Beck becomes the fourth academy player in three games to score for the first team over pre season following on from George Baxter and Aled Reece against Blacon and Rhys Healey against Colwyn Bay.
