The Nomads are pleased to announce the signing of striker Mike Hayes following last season's successful loan spell at the club.

Hayes, a product of the Chester City and Wrexham FC youth systems, joins The Nomads on a one-year contract from local rivals, Airbus UK Broughton.

The 25-year-old scored nine goals in nine games for The Nomads last season whilst on loan from February until the end of the season.

Hayes previously played for The Nomads between 2009 and 2011, netting 25 goals in the process. He left the Deeside Stadium in early 2011, joining Bala Town for a brief spell before moving to Airbus.

Nomads player manager Mark McGregor said: "I'm delighted to get Mike back at the Deeside Stadium on a permanent deal. He will be a breath of fresh air for the team, and I fully expect him to be in contention for the golden boot in the Welsh Premier League this season."

Mike added: "I really enjoyed my time with the Nomads last season, so I'm chuffed to be joining on a permanent basis.

"Hopefully I will be able to make a major impact. My loan spell means I know the players, fans, coaching staff and whole setup well, so I should be able to hit the ground running when the new season kicks off."
