Nomads sign ex football league starlet Roberts

The Nomads are pleased to announce the signing of 26 year-old midfielder Gary Roberts.

Roberts started his career at Crewe Alexandra, playing over 133 games for the team through the names changes of the First Division, Championship and League One, as well and FA an League Cup games through 2003-2008.

After leaving Crewe, Roberts moved on to Yeovil Town where he made 34 appearances in League One.

Stops and Rotherham, Port Vale and Mansifled Town saw Roberts rack up another 118 appearances in the English footballing pyramid before heading to the Maltese Premier League in the 2012-13 season on loan at Floriana.

Roberts is described as a deep-lying playmaker regularly praised for his vision and ball distribution skills.  In addition to his domestic career he has also represented England and U16, U17, I18 and U19 levels.

Gary has scored a total of 28 goals in 284 club appearances and comes to Deeside as our fifth signing of an already busy January transfer window.
