The Nomads are pleased to announce the signing of Kevin McIntyre on a one year contract.

The left back has trialled with The Nomads during pre-season and has impressed throughout, starting all of our pre-season games so far.

The 36 year old left back joins The Nomads having spent last season at Chester FC in the Conference, and joins up with former teammates George Horan and Jamie Rainford who also arrived this summer.

McIntyre started his career at this Saturday's opponents, Tranmere Rovers, before spells at Doncaster Rovers, Barrow and Chester City.

McIntyre joined Shrewsbury Town in 2008 for £50,000, and despite breaking his leg a year later, managed to return and score a crucial winner against Bury in a play off semi final.

Manager Mark McGregor was understandably delighted to add such an experience defender to the ranks, saying: "It's great to have Kev officially signed after his impressive pre-season.  He's one of the fittest at the club, and I am convinced that he will prove to be a fantastic signing for the Club.  He has already struck up a great understanding with the other defenders at the Club and that will only get better the more they play together."
