Barton joined The Nomads on loan from Dundee United in the 2018/19 season and made his debut in a 2-1 victory against Newtown. Barton went on to make 12 appearances including starting in the Irn Bru Cup Final against Ross County and made his final appearance in a Nomads shirt in the closing minutes of the 2019 JD Welsh Cup Final against TNS.
