Park Avenue, Aberystwyth | Attendance: 241

ABERYSTWYTH endured a frustrating afternoon as they lost their third game of the season at Park Avenue, and management duo Brian Coyne and Jake King, who resigned after the final whistle.

But the outcome could easily have been different, with Luke Sherbon denied three goals by a combination of the woodwork and the offside flag.

The midfielder hit an upright early in the game and it was Nomads who drew first blood when Sam McNutt lobbed a shot into the net over keeper Stephen Cann.

Michael Waters was inches wide with a 15-yarder after Connah's Quay failed to clear their lines, with Danny Forde drawing a good save from Cann at the other end, after being set-up by McNutt.

Sherbon headed into the far corner from an Aneurin Thomas cross in the second half only to be denied by the assistant's flag, but finally got his name on the scoresheet when Nomads' keeper Terry McCormick could only parry a Geoff Kellaway shot.

The flag again frustrated Sherbon, who thought he had given the Seasiders the lead by turning-in a Steven Bowen cross and Aber's afternoon ended in total disappointment when Forde converted a right-wing cross which eluded the home defence.
