Connah's Quay Nomads are delighted to confirm that Danny Holmes, will join The Nomads' Management team as First Team Coach, starting this spring.

Birkenhead-born Holmes, has enjoyed a stellar career, most notably including 134 appearances for his boyhood club, Tranmere Rovers, which he joined at age 7, going onto captain both the Youth and Reserve sides.

Andy Morrison signed Danny for The Nomads in May 2018 and he has been instrumental in helping the club win back-to-back JD Cymru Premier titles, leading to both Champions' League and Europa League campaigns along with two Nathaniel MG Cup triumphs having racked up over 140 competitive starts at the club since his arrival.

Ambitious to join the coaching and managerial ranks, Holmes secured both his UEFA A and Elite Youth badges last November and has been keen to pin down his first senior coaching role.

Nomads First Team Manager Neil Gibson commented on the move:
"I'm really pleased to add Danny to the coaching staff - he's still playing to an exceptionally high standard but is also moving quickly along in his coaching career.

I'm particularly looking forward to how he can utilise his knowledge to the younger players within the first team squad and aid their development with the other coaches at the club.

He should complement the existing coaches really well next season, marrying up with his playing commitments as he will still be a very strong member of the playing squad."

Danny, who will continue as a Nomads player, commented;
"I'm delighted to be given this opportunity - I've loved my time at the club so far playing with some top lads. I've worked incredibly hard to get to this position and I can't wait to work with the players next season as a player/coach. I want to work my way up on the coaching side of the game and have now been given a great platform to do just that."
