Connah's Quay Nomads can confirm the departure of U19s Captain and Coleg Cambria Scholar Sienna Strapp as she prepares to take on an opportunity at Stoke City Women.

Sienna joined The Nomads in November 2021 following an impressive spell at Northop Hall and she instantly became a pivotal part of the Women's first team squad. Sienna also joined the club to take part in the Coleg Cambria Women’s Scholarship Programme.

She made her first Nomads appearance against Llanfair United and went on to score five goals and assist three times during her two seasons at the club. The speedy full back undoubtedly had a breakthrough 2022/23 season as she captained our first ever Women's U19s side and was a part of a NEWFA Women's Cup winning side for the second consecutive season. This season, Sienna also represented Wales on the international stage, flying out to Rome to take part in the Welsh Women's Colleges tournament.

Her hard work off the pitch can also not go unnoticed, attending multiple school half term camps hosted by Quay In the Community leader and Women's Manager Jordan Parry at The Quay 3G. Sienna became a well known figure in Welsh Women's Football, the Genero Adran North and the whole setup of Connah's Quay Nomads.

Sienna's desire and dedication to football was recognised at this year's Coleg Cambria student awards where she received the award for Sports Student Of The Year. On her departure, Sienna commented:
"I don't think it's possible to thank the coaches and players at The Nomads enough for the help and support they have given me on and off the pitch. Over the past two years at The Nomads I've achieved so much as my whole mentality, focus and overall footballing ability has grown massively and that's because of everyone involved.

It's sad to go and leave a group of amazing players and coaches however it's an opportunity no one could turn down. I'm so grateful to be given such incredible opportunities over the two seasons I've been here and that's all thanks to The Nomads.

I've been able to go to Rome with The Welsh Colleges squad, play in a record breaking game at The Racecourse Ground, lift trophies and have been the first ever Women's U19s captain and to be able to be part of the girls PDC that's got lots of amazing talent already.

I will be supporting the girls throughout the season definitely and I'll be wishing them the best of luck in league and cup competition. Hopefully, I will see the girls lift all the trophies they can this season and to see them in the Genero Adran Premier next season. Once again, thank you to everyone at The Nomads."

Women's Manager Jordan Parry also took time to share his thoughts on Sienna's time at the club:
"Sienna's journey with us at Connah's Quay Nomads has been nothing short of amazing - she has been one of the most coachable players during my time here and she is a true product of our environment. I am delighted for Sienna as she strives with so much ambition to be the best person she can be and will always have myself, the staff, the players and the club's full support on her next chapter as she joins Stoke City.

It's remarkable how fast Sienna has developed as a player in such a short space of time, growing as a player and growing from a young girl into a woman. I am extremely proud to have been a part of her development. She will certainly be missed."

Good luck Sienna from everyone at the club!
