This past Friday night saw two ex-Nomads meet face-to-face in the Sky Bet Championship as Chris Maxwell's Preston North End visited Rhys Healey's Cardiff City.

Goalkeeper, Maxwell spent a six-month loan spell at The Nomads during the 2008-09 season, making 20 appearances in all competitions, before being called back by Wrexham in January 2009. Maxwell made his debut for The Nomads in a 2-1 victory over Haverfordwest County in August 2008 before making his final appearance for the Club in the famed 6-5 defeat at the hands of Porthmadog in December 2008.

Since leaving Deeside, Maxwell has gone one to play for Fleetwood Town, had loan spells at Wrexham and Cambridge United as well as playing more than 60 time for current side Preston in the Sky Bet Championship.

Healey's standout season was the 2012/13 season which saw him make his Welsh Premier League debut coming off the bench against Bangor City, and forcing his way into the starting lineup against Carmarthen Town, where he scored one of the team's four on the day.

12 starts and 8 appearances from the bench saw Rhys net 12 goals and attract the attention of many high-profile clubs, but it was Cardiff City, then of the English Premier League, who swooped for the young starlet, putting pen to paper on a two-and-a-half-year contract with the Premiership side.

Healey has since gone on to enjoy loan spells at Colchester United, Dundee and Newport County, recently returning to Cardiff's first team picture following a long-term injury.

While Maxwell started the game, Healey came on from the bench in the 75th minute, but it was Maxwell's side who came out on top thanks to a late Tom Clarke goal. The Nomads' Director of Football, Jay Catton took to Twitter to comment on the achievement of the ex-Nomads.
