Horan and Morrison double award winners for February

Congratulations to Andy Morrison and George Horan who have been named as the JD Cymru Premier Manager and Player of the Month for February.

February was a great month for the club as we picked up the first piece of available silverware of the season as we defeated STM Sports 3-0 in the Nathaniel MG Cup Final on the first day of the month. The following weekend saw a return to JD Cymru Premier action as Phase Two got back underway with a 1-0 victory way at Barry Town.

This was followed up with a 4-0 victory over Caernarfon Town, a game in which George Horan netted twice in the first half before we toppled TNS in a top of the table clash at Deeside Stadium. The result against TNS meant that we had won four successive games, scoring nine goals without conceding a single goal.

On his own award, Andy Morrison said "It was a great month for the club, winning the League Cup and three wins from three in the league. As I always say, it's a recognition of the work done by everyone and for me it should be the Team of the Month award."

Morrison went on to praise his Captain, George Horan; "George winning Player of the Month in the month of his 38th birthday speaks volumes of his character. I knew George was a leader before I came to the club over four years ago - after speaking with him, he made it clear he was up for the challenge and demands I would put on him and the players.

Four years later and he's been selected four times in the Cymru Premier Team of the Season as voted by the other managers in the league - this is all I need to say about George.

For me, this has been his best season and I expect him to make it five consecutive nominations in the Team of the Season."
